So finally the last egg of our 7 eggs hatched today, over a week after all the others (see previous threads by ashby_steve.. the boyfriend) The umbilical cord had wrapped itself tight around the snake and i guess as the snake pulled out of the egg it "suffocated" itself as we found it dead :(
Sad to see a dead hatchie but at least the other 6 are alive and well :) Just waiting for the first shed now then feeding can commence |

Ive got a hatchling just now, maybe you could help. Hes came out of its egg but still has the umbilical cord attached to him and a massive sack, what should i do? He seems okay, hes been trying to move about but the sack is weighing him down. |

It will do. If you have a little tub put some damp kitchen roll in as substrate for it so that the yolk sack doesn't dry out.
Sorry to hear bout the dead hatchie booteylu, at least you got 6 though :) I had 11 eggs this time and only 7 hatched.. I guess it just happens sometimes |
