I think most people use the rub rack approach mate either with cable or long heat strips

we have a long heatmat against a vertical wall of a spare viv and the RUBs with hatchlings in are stacked up against the heat mat
so they have a warm end and cool end

that ^ only works because we had a small clutch of eggs so only have 7 hatchlings. obviously if theres 20 hatchlings you'd need a really long heat mat
which id never seen before in a pet shop but they had loads at the doncaster show so i guess thats how you'd heat a load of them

with the thermostats we just put the sensor right on the heatmat wedged in between it and one of the RUBs

i use one of my viv's the same as yours (without the front on it). i've got a shelf splitting the viv in two length ways so i've got two levels. i've got a 36in by 6in heat mat running through the centre of each level. you can fit in 32 cricket tubs (2 rows of 8 on each level).around a third of each tub sits on the heat mat

U can get heat strips 4 ft long there purely designed for heating small tubs. Either that or heat cables are used by quiet a few, they come in 3.5-16 metres long if u have lots of shelves these can be easier an tidier as theres no risks asociated with running multiple mats from one stat, or loads of cables everywehere. But with them ideally u need a resess for the cable to sit it so the tubs sit over them better.

I assume that's as if your looking into the viv from the front?

If so I guess the mat is mounted on rear wall as bootie mentioned. I've never used a mat that way but guess if tubs are in contact with it, it will heat the tub up slightly. An obv works for bootie
