If you just leave the mouse out on top of the hide she doesn't.

If you hold it with something and wave it at her she does bite and constrict.

mine always do now.
they didnt when they were a little smaller, but now they are on medium/large mice they always do.

And your friends snakes probably do know how to constrict, perhaps they just do not feel the need to. get them to move the mouse about and tease the snake with it first, I bet they would then lol

If teased enough all 3 of mine constrict. A lot lol. However Rubi will constrict 99% of the time, teased or not :)

My big female has a very powerfull strike but doesn't tend to constrict, the other two do occasionally. My little female house snake however is amazing to watch, she will coil about 6 times and constrict.

y corn never struck or constricted when he was little then one day he struck the next feed he struck and constricted. Now he regularly bursts his mice.

Little video for you of my corn constricting and it leading to mess.

I also have a house snake and they do wrap around as many times as will fit on the mouse, very cute. I also have a Boa that hits like a train and constricts something incredible, you can hear bonesbreaking

Well - after Embers last feeding strike missed the pink and got my finger, which she proceeded to constrict for a couple of minutes before letting go, I've decided I prefer Corno's more laid back approach of wander across, give it a sniff then start to eat lol!! Last time she even gently took one from my hands as if I was feeding a baby chick or something, just opened her mouth and I gave it to her rofl!!

With kelloggs, he will strike and constrict as we wiggle the pinkie in front of him. According to his previous owner he used to do this from an early age. I think it just depends on the snake and what they prefer

1.0 'Normal' corn - Kelloggs

I think it's all been said before but: Little Ara (must be 9 months old I guess by now) does a mini strike but no constrict, even when teased relentlessly with a fuzz - this is a step up from when he used to just head over to the food and open his mouth. Ginn the kingsnake is ferocious and strikes, coils and then plays with her food for a while before eating. Aysha the boa strikes and constricts harder and faster than Ginn and I'm sure will destroy prey when older, but then she's a complete softy when not eating.
