But so males tend to be more expensive than females?
I bet there is a really obvious answer, but to me i'd have thought you'd have to pay more for a female since she lays eggs..

I've never noticed at all!
Females for most species i've seen tend to be more expensive

The only reason i can think of is males are able to breed sooner than females?

but yeah im relatively certain that on most price lists ive seen males are more expensive..

Can't say I have, females are usually more expensive from what I've seen.
