Sorry to hear that, just as a bit of a re assurance, 2 years is not too young to breed a male at all, female yes, male is fine, rats also are fine to feed, they are better than mice for growers, weight for weight they actually have a lower fat level than mice and much higher protein and calcium levels. The regurges werent the cause of his death, if you still have access to him and havent frozen him, i suggest getting a PM done, i strongly suspect that you will find that he has internal parasites, probably Pinworm, and its likely to be from the live food as opposed to the frozen.
A large pinworm infestation can happen quickly, I lost a leopard gecko to it recently, and i knew what to look for and how to treat it, but she deteriorated so quickly our actions were fruitless. |
