This is Suki my 2yr old Cali King. In the last 3 weeks or so she has developed this odd lump underneath her chin that comes and goes that is soft and squishy and does feel like there's nothing there.

The Vet thinks she could be holding air or gas but isnt sure at all and is planning to speak to a Zoo Vet. Also every now and again the side of her mouth is open ever so slightly.

Apart from this she's fine and you wouldnt think anything was wrong with her.

Here are 3 photo's of Suki with the lump's pointed out...

Thanks for your time!

Have you changed your substrate or anything? Did you use a new disinfectant or maybe? I only ask cause my horse gets swollen glands there in spring time due to an allergy to something I've not yet figured out, yet she still eats and is in good form! Completely unrelated obviously but an allergy might cause a reaction like that.

Bit of an odd one, my guess is something glandular as far as I'm aware the salivary glands are located in that area of the mouth. It may be an infection causing it though so A specialist exotics vet is your best bet so they can examine it. I dont see how or why it could be held air in the throat, the glottis is way forward of this point and is the only airway a snake possesses and its pretty tough and cant be expanded (its tough so it stays open and not squashed when swallowing prey).
