Did a search on google about corn eggs hatching n found a few things about them sweating before they hatch, where they ooze liquid before pipping... Never heard of this before and mine didnt do it last year. Is it common? Its strange, I dont tend to trust anyone other than members of this forum on the internet lol. Loads of people say to slit the eggs after a certain amount of time! Cant say I agree with that! |

the only time they ooze should be when the snake has slit the egg, dont agree with cutting eggs either but thats personal choice as the snake will come out of the egg when its ready

Yeah I couldn't imagine slitting it either, seems so unnecessary.
I read it on this thread http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forums/breeding/529441-why-my-corn-snake-eggs.html sorry to post a link to another forum, but the info isn't really reliable in my opinion anyway.
a few posts down someone puts "some eggs will sink, some will stay perfect, but nearly all will sweat." Can't say I agree lol, never heard of it before. Madness.
I also found something really really weird on youtube when i was looking for vids of eggs hatching. Someone had found some eggs in their garden and incubated the good ones, but there was one that had been ripped open by something and he took a vid of a snake embryo (one of the strangest things ive seen) and you could see its heart and it was still beating :( horrible but very interesting to see what they look like before they fully form. |
