Hi,
I have two 13 month old corn snakes that have lived together in their viv since they were hatchlings.
The viv contains four hides although they choose to spend most of the time in one together.
Am i likely to see this happy relationship change in the future.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

it can change one thing you have to think about is whats the sex of these two snakes, as they will breed and you may not want this.

snakes by nature are solitary creatures and only usually come together to breed. but each to there own people do it different ways i know some people do co habit there snakes but most dont.

that said i know more knowledgable people will reply with better explanations

you really do need to get them sexed, because if they are opposites they could breed pretty soon resulting in lots of problems for the female

Having read the forum discussion on this there seems very strong views in both camps, getting the pair sexed will be the next step. Will post the results and let you know my decision.

Hi , a brave question maybe, i know the issue is one that brings out strong opinions, but needed to ask people with more knowledge than me. The shop that sold them to us said it wasnt a problem and as its a specialist reptile shop i took their word. You guys are not profit motivated and therefore honest in your opinion. Thanks all.

every single shop will tell you its fine. and in some cases it is, when you keep proven same sex snakes together. its the same with any animal, if they breed too young then it will harm the female. if you have any further questona about co habing post it on the main thread that is stickied x

hello n welcome

i have two that co-habit both are same age same sex
we too have plenty hides loo rolls and verious box to hide out in normally they are together some where except in blue then they tend to leave each other alone .. but my OH and i have made a desision to spilt them up after the last rounds of weighing them pop's (creamsicle)is twice the weight and a foot longer than sizzle...... pop's is a x breed snake so we do not know how big she will get and we feel that its unfair to sizzle just incase pop's try's to dominatate her so we are looking for a 5 ft viv to rehome pop's in
