Morning all :)
Just had a brainwave (no sniggers in the back) I remember people saying that the locks for vivs didnt fit between the glass, does this apply 2 vivexotics?
Thanks

Yes, it is the vivexotics that can have problems as the gap between the glass is very small. I believe it is only cheap locks though? I got a cheap one and it went in the bin as I couldn't be bothered to start trying to hammer out the bump they have. I just use a rubber glass door wedge instead. I think the more expensive locks work OK? |

Mine are cheap locks we have one viv that its a bit tight and stiff to open cos of the lock. But the others are fine. They all have the same cheap locks. However, I have now started ueing rubber wedges... but that is purely because I have arthritis in my hands and have been finding the locks too fiddly for me. xxx |

Locks don't fit my vivexotics, we use rubber wedges - we have the VX range.
Problem with the lock we got (£5 in a shop) is that it has a bend in the metal towards the business end...the bend makes it too thick to fit through the gap in our doors. If you get a lock that doesn't have this bend or use brute force with pliers to remove this bend you'll be fine I reckon. |

I use those locks, they do have a kink that raises the bar so the lock part can fit and it can make for a tight fit but they are good locks. |

I'm a typical Scottish cheapskate!! Here are 2 of my viv locks:
Kitchen sucker hook: Works as combo stuck wedge & latch. Cost 5 pence.
My prototype Baldy's Clip Lock: Heavy paper-clip and a bit of twiddling with a assorted pairs of wiring pliers. Material costs: £1 per 100. Yes, 1 penny each and 100% snake proof.
Can't get any cheaper than those. Just takes a bit of spare time when the TV is not worth watching, so plenty of opportunity. So far both have served their purpose.

I just use rubber wedges. U can also get push locks but they need a hole cut in the glass to work |

My lock had a kink in it. I had to flatten it for it to work. |

Easy I just put the kink on the railings out the front of my flat and hit it with hammer a few times to flatten it. Simples really. Just need something solid and thin enough to put it on to hit it against. |
