I've done a search on here for how to treat rocks etc.

The general consensus is to soak them for 24hrs in 1:10 Bleach:Water solution, then oven bake for 1hr at 100*F? Does this sound right? Or are there other methods?

Also is this for ones brought home from the wild? The ones i plan to get are from an aquatics/reptile center? Now i know not to presume they are treated already so would the same count for them?

All adivse welcome

Personally id say it would be a lot simpler than that for rocks. Unlike wood nothing is going to be living in there deep. it would only be on the surface so putting them in a saucepan and boiling them would kill any bacteria. I think that would be enough. More people will advise soon.

Some rocks are porous though so I guess it depends in the rock. See what others say. Thanks for the response though.

Don't you mean 100C?, 100F is just a very hot summers day, won't kill much.

I just give rocks a good scrub to remove any surface dirt, then an overnight soak in diluted bleach, then rinse them off.

No probs in over 10 years of reptile and arachnid keeping.

If you're worried about using bleach, I've used Milton's in the past to soak & sterilise rocks, fake plants & driftwood.

If you're not familiar with Milton's, it comes in either tablet or liquid form & is used to sterilise babies bottles & dummies.

Is camelback got anything to do with camel-toe?
