Hi all
Is it ok to clean the viv with clear dettol I use it on my babies high chair so thought it might be safe for the snakies but I thought I should check first does anyone know if it's ok

i use a reptile safe antibac x

1.0 western hognose (hero)
1.0 phantom reverse pin dal brindle crested gecko (goyle)
0.2 red dal red harly (sprite) 99% full pin Harley crested gecko (TuLong)
0.0.3 miomantis paykullii
0.0.3 Bombina orientalis (oriental fire bellied toad)
0.3 fancy mice (snap, crackle and pop)
1.0 yorkshire terrier (jasper)
2.1 cats (echo, shadow and pokey)

We are cleaning them now and all I have is dettol so I need to know if it's ok I will get some reptile friendly for next time

just use boiling water as long as its above 83 degrees it as good al bleach at disinfecting. x

Its fine diluted then just leave it to dry or get the kitchen roll out make sure its good and dry.

Do NOT use any Dettol products, diluted or otherwise, for use on any snake or reptile equipment. That was the reply I received from Customer Support on a query about using 'food/baby safe surface cleansers'.

Use a 10% diluted plain bleach solution for general disinfecting and cleaning until you can get a reptile safe disinfectant such as F10.

Leave the viv open and allow to dry completely and allow any fumes to disperse for at least 24 hours.
