I am getting a snake so I am joining this forum. I already know what snake I am getting. She's an amel corn snake and I can't wait to pick her up tommorow! I'll get pictures as soon as I can.  |

i would highly suggest you have a thermostat as you dont want snakey to get burnt! :o
Welcome to the Forum :D and remember as hard as it is leave snakey to settle for a week before handling and feeeding :):) |

| It was hard when I got Voldemort. On the day I was supposed to get to handle him, the TV broke and my mum had to wait for the man to fix it and I wasn't allowed to get him myself. When I did get him out, I watched Harry Potter with him and he saw himself on my telly! |

Hi there, if your getting snakey tomorrow, i wouldn't use the heatmat (unless he's been fed within the last 48 hrs, as they need the heat to digest) until you get the thermostat, he'll be fine for a few days as you won't be feeding until a weeks settling in period has lapsed. If you do need the heat just keep a really really close eye on the temperatures using a digital thermometer with a probe not the dial ones.
