My Corn Escape Yesterday! He Was moving Around On The Glass Of His Tank so I Cheacked It was Closed, But when I came Back From The Vets For My Cat I Went Up To Cheack On Him And The Tank Was Open And He Was Gone!!!!! I Did Find Him Down The Side Of My Desk!
I Put A Blanket Over His Tank Last Night That Seemed To Help, Does Anyone Know What I Should Do?

Do you not have a way of securing the doors? Or did he manage to get them open even so? I use the rubber glass door wedges in mine, some people use sucker cups, others use viv locks (but I got one for my vivexotic viv and couldn't get the stupid thing to fit lol!). You really need to find a way of securing them asap, you were lucky to find him again! Do you have an old faun or RUB you can put him back into for safety until you can be sure the viv is safe?

I Was Thinking About Getting A Lock For My Viv, But Where Should I Get It From?
I Might Put Him/Her In My Transport Tank Until I Get A Lock.
I Have A Vivexotic Tank, What Do You Recommned I Should Get?

I use the basic viv locks and they work fine, i'm sure PAH or your local rep shop would have them, i wouldn't wait until you can order one online as you don't want another escape in the meantime and if your snake has learnt how to open it once it could potentially do it again. Think i paid £5 for one the other day, don't know if this was expensive or not but needed it and was willing to pay to prevent an escape or snake eaten by cat situation.

The locks can be awkward to fit and i have to keep tightening the screw that holds it in place but at least it stops the doors from being opened or child from opening doors when i'm not aware of it

Viv locks don't fit the vivexotic very well, you have to straighten out the bump in the metal and it's not the easiest job! You'd be better with a couple of rubber wedges, or suction cups. In the meantime a folded piece of cardboard can be used as a wedge until you get something sorted

We couldn't get the vivlock to work so I would reccomend using rubber wedges. Voldemort hasn't escaped before with them.

Guess u got a vivexotic then. I binned the sliding lock I had as it started to scratch the glass. If no one is likely to fiddle with it I'd try an get a rubber wedge.

I drop a strip of acrylic cut to length into the glass runners cheap and affective and the doors go nowhere.
