Neo had a bit of a jump up last night, from small mice to rat fluffs- our frozen supplier had run out of mediums which he was due to move to. At first he wasn't really sure about it, but once he got going there was no looking back! Despite being 2 years old Neo is still very small for his age- hopefully on rats he'll have a bit of a growth spurt.
Tallahassee the Miami hasn't eaten since the night he escaped in the car (about 5/6 weeks ago I think) but I'm not too worried yet. I try him once a week though he does bury the fuzzy and let it stink rather than eat the damn thing.....
Trinity is Neo's big sister, a lovely snake with a great appetite- no hanging about for her!
Hera is a funny one- no matter what she has to eat, it's never enough. Whilst constricting her food item she will start hunting your hand as you try to put the lid back on her RUB- she never EVER strikes for hands when handling though. What a stunner she is! Have to adjust the flash settings for her otherwise to camera threatens to explode lol.

Ultramel stripe is a stunner! be careful with the larger sizes, if its taking a long time for her to reposition her jaw then i'd move back down a size hate for her to tear her jaw out :( |

Do you mean the top one, the snow stripe?
I can assure you that he coped fine with the rat, Im not sure what you mean about his jaw either, in the last pic he's still swallowing, you can see the tail.
Snakes can cope with far bigger prey items than most people think, I don't stick to the "one and a half times the width rule" and have never had an issue with any of my snakes.
Thanks anyway though. |
