hi, i was wondering wether you HAVE to put a light in the vivarium for the snake, or can you just have the heatmat on a thermostat, if the heatmat is at the right temperature. the room that i have my snakes in has got adequate lighting anyway so it's not as though they are sat in the dark all the time
so do i have to have a light in there with them? |

Lots of people used LED's to view at night, these are pretty safe, they don't get warm, the snake can't constrict on them, but they aren't a neccesity |

Lights are there for your purpose to view the snakes, not for the snake. If you are happy with the lighting in your room then there is no need to add extra :) |
