Hi everyone,

I got my 1st corn about a month ago. She hatched last June and is about a foot and a bit long just now. She's a beautiful little Candy Cane and she's usually very social and inquisitive.

She was being fed on a pinky a week when I got her so I maintained this for the 1st couple of feeds but felt she was still hungry. She has always fed really easily and the 'lump' kind of disappeared within 15 minutes of eating or so. She always looked to be handled the following day although I always left her the recommended 2 days.

I felt she was more than ready to move on with her feeds so 2 feeds ago I gave her 2 pinkies - everything was fine and again she was looking to be handled within a day (again I left her the recommended 2 days).

On her last feed (saturday night) I tried her on a pinkie and a fluffy (the smallest one i had) and she took a bit longer to swallow this one down but managed it.

As soon as she fed she started rubbing her head against her hides, went quiet and wasn't looking for interaction so I've left her and today she's looking as if she's going 'into blue'.

I've added a small water bowl over the heat mat (usual water bowl is on other side of her box) and I've added some damp kitchen roll to the cool end of her box which she went straight towards.

Any ideas? I'm a bit worried she's gone straight into this after a feed as I've read snakes don't usually like to feed when going into shed. Is this a shed or is she unwell after a feed she's not used too? If it is a shed coming on, have I done enough to the box or should i do more?

Please help - your advice is appreciated

It all sounds fine. Some snakes will eat in blue, some won't. Nothing to worry about.

Sounds fine to me, mine feed even when they are really doll. Also like to point out that what I find with mine is that when they had a good feed they generally go in their hides and sleep it off. And I leave it 48 hours before I handle them again.

Just trying to see if I've got the photo thing working.

Candy is still the same - in fact she hasn't come out from under the kitchen towel at all today so far - hope this doesn't take too much longer. (:-()

Hi everyone,

Just to let you all know what happened....

I woke up this morning to a a beautiful complete shed and a much happier little corn. I don't know who is more happier - me or her lol.

I got a chance to measure it and she's 55cm/21.5".

I've got her back in her big box and she's happy as larry - climbing all over it. It's so nice to have her back to normal.
