Hi
I generally have a healthy 1 and a half year old corn snake, for the last 2 days he has not eaten. He is very clever if he wants his water topping up for a bath he will lay on top of it and look at me and when he wants feeding he lays on his perch waiting for the mouse. He has even tried escaping as he is hungry but keeps circling around the mouse but wont't eat it. any suggestions please
thanks

If hes male then its more than likely breeding season that is causing him to be iffy. Keep an eye on his weight for as long as he fasts. If theres no significant weight loss all is good Snakes can go a long time without eating if they choose to. As long as the weight is ok its just a case of waiting the fast out. He will eat when hes ready to. One of my boys went close to 4 months last year without eating, but only fasted 5 weeks so far this yr.

Yep, sounds like breeding season blues! Just continue to offer food once a week, don't keep hassling him too often, and he'll take it when he finally realises he's hungry ;)
