If the eggs are fertile before she lays them?
I realise you probably can't tell, but wondered if there are any clues. |

Agree with gmac, you wont know till there layed OR if you know you female hasn't been with a male atall. For instance I have a Miami corn that iv had for 3 yrs, iv never chosen to breed her and she most definatly has never been with any males BUT she has layed 3yrs in a row infertile eggs, dont ask me why cos I really dont know lol, unfortunately thou now it looks like I may lose her as she has taken a long time to get over last years clutch that she layed, shes only now feeding on rat pups as she regurges anything else but saying that she hasn't regurged her food from last night wich is good (hopefully iv not spoken to soon) |
With 27 beautiful corns I definitely have snakeitus :-) |

Aren't rat pups massive? Must be a big corn...
I didn't think I'd be able to tell. I bred her twice, sucessfully with my male just over a month ago, so they should be fertile. Fingers crossed, seen as I plan to keep one of the hatchlings this year :D |

there was a long and rambling thread a while back cos of confusion between rat pups/weaners- i think in some areas (eg where I am) the smallest rat you can get is a weaner- I've only ever seen pups on here in posted pics |
and you thought there was no such thing as a stupid question....

1.2.0 corns: captain haddock, sharon the tiddler and Darling Debbie. plus 0.2.0 cali kings: spot and Numpty... not forgetting the delightful Miss Lovely-Gonzalez-La-Poop apricot pueblan milk snake, and we all miss the Lodger who thought he was a cobra....
