I'm just curious to see how big sierra is. She varys when handling, sometimes she's really active and other times she'll happily wrap herself around my fingers. So can't really put her down next to a tape measure lol.
I lay mine on the floor, then get my flexible tape measure and gently hold one part of her down while measuring it. Then let go of that part and grab the next part, guiding the tape all the way down my snake until I have one number at her tail (while the rest of her is free. Not sure if I explained that well, but its hard to lol.
You can also take a birds eye view pic of the snake with a ruler next to it, and upload it to the website (http://serpwidgets.com/main/measure), highlight the known length and the snake length and it'll give you a figure
Instead of the flexible tape measure use a length of string and run both snake and string through your hands a section at a time, nose to tail. Straighten out the string and measure that.
