Hi I'm thinking of getting a corn snake but first I need to persuade them(and i haven't even started) could you please tell me what things I can put in a letter to persuade them (or even a whole draft letter) Thanks in advance |

Not to be rude why a letter, can you not talk? If you research like facts and maybe costs and how long they live |

Not every one finds it easy to talk to other people (especially my parent) I find it easier with a less direct way of communicating |

I don't find it easy to talk to people at all, specially my parents too but if I was talking to them about something serious I would talk to them instead of dumping a letter on their lap, that way they would know I mean what I say and you can see someone else's enthusiasm and passion when they talk, can ask me questions, shows that I have some level of responsibility. I'm sure they will have questions like "how long do they live, have their been any cases of when this happened? Can they eat other food asides from mice, where would you get the food to feed it, what will you do with the snake if you go to University? What happens if you decide your bored of it? Is any other equipment needed and any health issues that can happen." They will have questions and if your talking to them about it anyway they can just ask you then rather than going upstairs in your room to ask you. Unless you whole family communicates using letters. |

I agree with Sta~ple, if you're really serious about wanting a corn snake it's best to speak to them face to face. My 11 yr old got her first corn snake in July, and the only reason she was allowed one was she had to ask her Dad as he really doesn't like snakes. When she asked he knew for sure she was serious about it, and she had read up on them on this site too, so knew the proper care and what they needed |

Don't forget to explain how little electricity they use. That was a big selling point for my parents, because they only use one plug to run the thermostat and heatmat. They were expecting lights, mats, all sorts! xD |
