Would it be possible to keep a pair of rats in a large Exo Terra or would there be ventilation issues? Keep in mind that have mesh tops on them. |

rats can be kept in tanks but i've always preferred the wire cages. as you said more ventilation but climbable too... |

I used to keep rats, at one point I had 21 of them.
An Exo Terra wouldn't be ideal. There's not enough ventilation, plus Exo Terras have a fair bit of plastic on the lid and the vents at the front, that wouldn't last long with ratty teeth chewing away. |

I have a rat too, i think they would chew through the lid quite quickly x |

I had a 2 pet dumbo rats which were from head to bottom (exc tail) measure 10 inches!!
And they had a wire cage.
Get them a hammock too (from pets at home I got mine), because they do actually sleep in it and is quite cute |
