Superb photos Mr Gmac. Caly is looking cracking.
Quick question though. Was it ever determined if her kink was incubation or genetic?? |

According to a local garden/reptile/aquatics shop that's a Californian Corn Snake.....
Stunning tho. Makes me realise how small my corn is at present! Not even close to filling its medium hide! |

A good question K, none of the other sibs nor either parent have shown any signs of having kinks therefore we are assuming that it is incubation issues. The photo does show it to be a nasty kink but in reality it isnt as bad as that.
Although there is no real way to determine if it is genetic without going back generations to find out. I have have heard about one of her sibs not growing all that quickly, as Caly has grown well I am now wondering if that is due to incubation problems also.

That reptile shop is sorely lacking in basic snake knowledge then. If they ever get a 'royal' in that looks like it's got tiger stripes then lemme know.

I'm assuming then it's gonna be safer to not let her be a breeder then, just in case there is something genetic from generations back??

Is there anyway to tell the difference between genetic issues and incubation issues? |

where you find posted all over the interweb about kinked snakes you can usually read in the same paragraph "dont know if it is incubation or genetic"
I couldn't tell the difference but I would seriously doubt if anyone could tell the difference between genetic or incubation so personally I would err on the cautious side and assume genetic and take it from there. |

Gmac, I'm not usually a massive fan of kings (maybe bar MBK's!) but this is an absolute stunner! I love how clean the markings are. The wonky tongue picture is also an all time fave |
