Hello, for everyone who does not know him. Cyril is my 10 year old corn. He is being fed 2x Large Mice and 1x Medium mouse each feed. He takes these without a problem!

This Video is him eating the Medium Mouse

Once every week, I'm thinking of spacing it out a bit more. But im reluctant to as he just eats them without a problem.

Ever pet store we have taken him to says he should be feeding on 5 large mice. Which we though was a bit over the top.

too much. Far too much. Adult corns eat one large mouse a fortnight. You risk making the snake obese. xx


EDIT: no pet shop I know would recomend over feeding like that

"one every 5-6 days and graduate up to an adult mouse every 7-14 days as they grow. Very large snakes may require 2 adult mice per feed." This is quoted from the Corn Snake Care Sheet under Feeding.

Many books say they will eat until they choose not to as well.

You can feed them 2 mice once a fortnight if you like. My adults get one mouse a fortnight and are healthy weights. 2 large and 1 medium a week is far far too much.

Corns are opportunists. They will eat as long as you keep shoving food in their face. Not healthy for them.
