Well I took Hygge along to the North East Responsible Reptile Keeping Show in Durham today, and he ended up being placed first in the Corn Snake category! I have no idea how he managed that as there were some beautiful snakes there in lovely condition, glad I didn't have to judge (although of course I think Hygge is the best snake in the world)

He was the youngest corn there - the snake which came second was 9 or 10yrs, and the one which was third was 4yrs, compared with Hygge at 4 months.

The show was a very good day out as well - there were huge monitors and pythons on display as well as some venomous snakes, and two local shops had brought equipment to sell. Next year they are hoping to be able to sell livestock as well, this is the first year of the show so no reptiles for sale (just as well really as I would have been sorely tempted!).

Still in shock at having a champion snake though

Sue

No rosette but a snazzy laminated certificate!

Thanks for all the comments, I may be biased but I think he's a lovely snake, will be interesting to see what he grows up to look like.

Tordyjo - aw shame, you missed a good day out (bit further than 5 mins for me tho) - but there will be more I'm sure judging from the number of folks there.
