Hi everyone, I'm hoping you can help me see whether my snake's behavior is normal or not...

She's a female sub-adult corn snake, approx 3ft long. We've owned her for about 5 weeks now.

We are worried that she had diarrhoea or that we're doing something wrong with feeding her - last week she did 5 poos over the space of 3 days (mon-thurs, she's fed on saturdays) and in the past 24 hours she's done 2 soft poos and a slimey thing.

History:
We were told when we picked her up to give her one small mouse for the first feed and then 2 small mice a week. She always eats what we offer her, but sometimes takes a while to decide that she wants it. We fed her the first mouse on a Saturday with no problems and for the next week she did 2 poos (one on Monday, one on thursday). The next week she was coming into shed so we didn't feed her and when she'd successfully shed 10 days later we gave her 2 mice the next day. In the following week she also did 2 poos, approximately 3 days apart with the first one 2 days after her meal. We gave her another 2 mice the next saturday (9 days later) and between Monday and Thursday she did 5 soft poos. We thought maybe we'd fed her too much and so the next feed (last Saturday) we gave her one mouse that she was v slow to eat and now she's done another 2 poos (and a slimy thing?!) since yesterday. I hope that makes sense.

Her habitat;
We keep her in a 3ft glass-fronted Viv with a hide at each end and a big water bowl in the middle. She has a heat mat at one end with a thermostat set to 30, the temp at the hot end (according to my digital thermometer) varies
between 28.5 and 30.2. The cold end at the moment is 23.5 because the weathers so warm but is normally 21-22.

Is she sick, is this normal or is it something I'm doing wrong? Help!! Thank you :)

After doing more reading I'm now wondering whether the slimy thing that appeared last night was a regurgitation-it was white, about 3cm long, covered in mucus but I did wonder whether I could just about make out a tail...

Please help I am so worried about her :(

IF it is a regurge. Then it sounds like overfeeding. Apparently you'd know if it was a regurge purely at the fact that it stinks to high heaven.

So if its its a regurge. Its best not to feed for at least 10days to allow time for their stomach to settle. After that i would just try it on one Mouse and see what happens.

Others with more expeirence may offer some better advice.

EDIT: They will always take what you offer them as the are opourtunist feeders. 2 small mice a week sounds like a lot. Does one small mouse leave a noticable bump??

Thanks for the reply, I think you're right I'm best to treat it as vomiting if I'm not sure...

I am reading conflicting things about vomiting though (and because it was about 48 hours after feeding it's vomiting not regurgitation, right?), some places say to leave well alone for 2 weeks, some say give the cage a thorough clean and disinfect and then leave her alone for 2 weeks, which shall I do?
