Snape, seven month old corn snake has been feeding on pinkies from the same supplier up until last week. 3 weeks ago I started feeding him 2 a feed, every 7 days and he was fine. I was planning on buying fuzzies now but the new supplier I was buying them off recommended I stay with pinkies as there pinkies were bigger than usual. I gave him one of these pinkies last week sunday, no problems. He hasn't been very active this week but he always does that before a shed and I noticed his eyes being cloudy the other day so I wasn't too stressed. I changed his water etc and handled him twice and he was fine.
I fed him again today while I cleaned him out. The pinkie was larger than he used to have but not too big for him. He took a while to eat it and I just let him get on with it.
When I checked him again (after seeing he had just swallowed it) I saw some brown/yellow liquidy solid in the corner, it was probably about 2-3cm of the stuff. What is this? Is snape okay? He seems fine apart from this and he still has his bulge in his tummy so its not the mouse (plus it would look like a mouse if it was one he had puked up and it did not look anything like a mouse)
Please help me out, I'm having major panic attacks. :( :( |

there may seem more as if he is in shed corns can hold onto it until they shed, maybe this pinkie just filled him up a bit too much lol.
If you are worried keep an eye on him, but personally i dont think theres anything to be loosing sleep over. |

They tend to hold a little bit in, as gmac said, he probably felt very full and just emptied it out to make room lol! |

Have you ever seen freshly laid corn snake poo before? Its quite likely you've only found it once the urates crystalise and the whole thing solidifies a bit. When its fresh its a sloppy mess. It couldn't be anything else, if it was regurge it would be a whole pinky.
When you have to go you have to go, I wouldn't worry they can eat far more than what we feed as a guideline amount (dont try it though it doesnt need proving ) wild snakes will eat pretty much anything they can kill, they dont measure them first. |

If he has had a bad shed, next time he is in blue put some damp spahgnum moss in a tub till he has shed, also, like your worry over the poop, yes its not very pleasant, but take a pic, all our snakes do it, and we talk about it A LOT lol, so this would help reassure you also, (this more for people reading this thread) since now you know your just pooped and peed! |
