Hi.. Hope someone can help.

Right then. I would just like to know the best order to do things in.

My corn snake was fed last at the breeders which was last Friday the 23rd Sept. It had two pinkies. I bought the snake home Monday and i have left it alone to adjust to the different environment.

I was hoping to handle it this weekend. Mainly Sunday. I had also thought i should feed it tomorrow which would be 7 days after the last feed.
I have now been thinking that i could reverse the order and get it out and handle this weekend then feed it Sunday or Monday evening.

I would be very interested to hear any advice. Please keep in mind when you give advice onthe fact that i am disparate to pick the little blighter up.... Only joking. Snakes welfare comes first.

I would feed then handle. Is best to get the feeding out of the way first. If the snake refuses i wouldnt handle until it eats as thats the most important part.

Agree with G. Best getting the feed out the way first otherwise, if your snake doesn't eat it's first feed then you are always gonna wonder if it's because you handled too soon.

Thankyou gmac & kdlang.

Do you think today (friday) would be a good day to try a feed, I would have only had her 4.5 days but it is 7 days now since her last feed or would I be better waiting til Sat or Sun so she would have had nearly 6-7 days of settling in.

i'm no expert but i would say tonight would be a perfect time to feed...being a week since the last feed. after he has digested, a day or so, should give you the chance to handle sometime sunday. i would wait till he has emerged from his hide...and had a poo......or you might have a deficating snake on your hands...literally!
