I have finally ran out of Pinkies i bought from Paws for Thought (PFT) in Leeds when i got my snake (well i have 2 of the 10 left). I went to my local pet shop and bought some more. These are a fair bit smaller than what i got at PFT. She's not ready for the next size up and is currently on a 7 day feed cycleSo i have a few questions...

1. With them being smaller is it best to go to a 5 day feed cycle or feed 2 of these pinkies at at time on a 7 day cycle? I've seen its not advised to feed two at a time so i am just a bit worried about doing so.

2. If its advised to do two at a time is it best to feed it the first and leave the second in its feeding rub to eat?

I only bought 5 of these smaller pinkies so these should last me til i get chance to either go to PFT and get some larger pinkies, or maybe even a fuzzie, tho i am not convinced she is ready to go up to the next size. some of these larger pinkies are sill leaving a nice lump.

All advice welcomed

I'd double them up - there's nothing wrong with doubling them up as long as that's how you get ready to move them up to the next food size
you could do two every 7 if you want and yes I feed one mouse and then when it's been eaten and is in the thickest part of the stomach I offer the second

Ok guys thanks for the advice. I'll see how much of a bump these smaller pinkies leave. If it hardly anything i will offer her a second.

Will take a pic later and show the size difference.

hi simmy, i asked the same question a couple of weeks ago as i was worried about feeding 2 pinks. i put both in curlys feeding rub at the same time....curly and nature did the rest. no problems at all. like someone said to me..'if a wild snake finds a mouse nest...he aint gonna read the menu!'.

Here is the pic as promised. The two on the right are two fuzzies i bought today for a size comparison. Even those two are varying sizes! The ones of the left are pinkies top being the smallest and bottom being the largest.

The plan is to feed two of the small pinkies starting this sunday and work up to the largest pinkie being fed on its own. Then try it on the smallest of the two fuzzies. IF the fuzzie goes down well i will go buy some more and hope they are smaller than that huge white fuzzie in the pic below lol

EDIT: Well the first of the small pinkies was devoured in about 30s! Hardly a bump at all. Second one went down in about 1min! There is a noticeable bump so I think she'll happily take a fuzzie! She's currently just eaten and is roaming around the viv. Doesnt seem to concerned with finding a warm spot.
