Am getting a new snake next week. Will be keeping him in a seperate room to my others, 2 ensure he is healthy. What period of time would you recomend b4 I move his viv near the others?

to properly quarantine a new arrival it should be as far away from your collection as you can get it, preferably with it in a room with the door shut (to reduce airborne pathogens). you should do anything with the new arrival last eg. feeding, cleaning out, water changing. not share any equipment between it and your established collection. change your clothes and wash hands after dealing with it.....ideally for 6 months.

that said, it's not practical for many people so how far you go with the above is up to you

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos

Ok, thanks gp. All of the above is easily do-able. Random question. Are there any pathogens, bacteria, mites etc that COULD affect other speices of animals other than my snake collection, specifically air born pathogens

generally most things are specific to snakes and will transfer by contact including via a 3rd party, though mites, crypto and salmonella are transmissable between snakes and other animals
