I've had a corn before, from March last year till August, when she unfortunately died - I still don't know why. :(
HOWEVER. I'm now getting a new snake, and I just recently found out about using a thermometre - I didn't with my old snake, do I need to? The shop I bought from was terrible, and never gave me any good advice, so I have no idea if I need one or not.
Lemon do you mean thermostat ? a thermostat prevents a heat mat from overheating and keeps the temperature at the warm end of the viv within a safe and comfortable range for the snake a thermometer just measures the temp you will need both
please please please DO get a thermostat. i recently ran a test on a unregulated small 7w heatmat. the temperature peeked at a massive 38oC. with a tile on top 35oC. far too hot for your corn. this was a new mat. older mats will eventually increase in temperature due to lower resistance. not a problem if you have a decent thermostsat! please refer to littlemick's room 101 posts on this forum. they are bril!!!!
