Hi all

When we collected Hongy, we were given quite a few mice that the previous owner said were large. They ran out on the last feed and, as feeding time was today, I ran out to get some. Looking in the tub that they came in, I honestly thought that they looked about the right size.

That is, until I came to defrost one, when it was clearly too small...a little over half the size of what we had previously fed him. He wolfed it down in a couple of mins and by the time it got to his mid-section, there was no lump visible.

I figure I should give him another one, maybe tomorrow...or should I thaw another one now and put it in?

What would you recommend?

Also, for the next feed...two at once? Or one and then the next the following day?

Obviously I will be picking up the next size up next time...

Cheers

When I first had Baldrick he was already too big for the pinkies we were advised to get in. He had two in one meal (ate with no issue) to try and make it easier on his digestion rather than a little meal over 2 days. I know they struggle with multiple items per meal as they aren't set up for it but as a stop gap mesure it was fine. He certainly grew well, was not starving hungry and never had an issue with regurge etc. I did offer more frequent food (every 2 days) while using up pinkies but after eating 2 in one meal his preference was to wait and eat every 5 days, he was very half hearted about a feed so soon. HTH a little bit. It's really irritating when that happens isn't it?!

you want to be feeding him 2 one after the other until you can get him the right size.

Great, thanks...

Typically, he fed about 30 minutes ago and then I posted on here in case I was doing the wrong thing...should I thaw another one out now then?

Thanks again

I agree

i'd say it's better to wait until next feeding time now rather than again tonight
