that is an amazing peice of work and would love to build one myself could you offer some key pointers and tips i need it for a leather back bearded would it be suitable as thought they needed a basking light.
i would realy appreciated anything you coud offer on this as i can see your experiance first hand

Hehe my fiancé makes these :) he is a joiner by trade

I've got one in my living room with tortoises in it

he can make them to measure if you are prepared to pay the price!

They are pricey to build! You're looking at >£100 at least. Depending on the quality of glass you want to go for, and I'd recommend minimum 6/8mm toughened, that will set you back £50 at a reaosnably priced trade shop. Woods shouldn't be too much, just use laminated Chipboard, or anything else you find easy to work with and is Aesthetic enough, assume about £25 for that. Then it's up to you on things like lighting, etc, but if you want a UV strip, add the cost of the tube and the controller, or if doing halogens, you need a tranformer plus fittings, and then the time taken to seal everything off and make it safe, and then silicone sealant which is animal safe... It's more of a job than you'd think at first glance!

Really nice work. Would have bought this. Although I would have changed to led strip battery operated to get rid of trailing wires. Really cool though
