I'm thinking of lighting up Lu's viv, purely for display purposes and the more I look the more lost I seem to get lol. So my main questions are:

1) Is it going to disturb Lu (bearing in mind I'll turn the light off at night and only keep it on in the day)
2) Does a florecent tube light require a guard so he can't hurt/burn himself?
3) What type/wattage will I need to keep him as happy as possible?

Sorry for the question bombarding but like I said REALLY lost lol

as long as its turned off at night so he still gets a sense of day and night it would be fine.

A flourescent would need a guard as not only would it get hot but if snakey managed to wrap himself round it he could squeeze it causing it to smash.

The best thing is a strip of led lights i got a 23cm set off of e bay with an adapter. Glued it to the roof of the viv, very bright, looks great and no fear of over heating or smashing. I'll post the link to the ones i got in a min when i find it.

That's brill thanks - would the strip of leds need a guard or would they be ok up there on their own?

I'd love to do it that way but would blow myself up. I'd love a blue and white strip wired into the same plug with a switch to determine which colour i have on.

I reckon I'll try the LED's - they look brighter than the florecent lights anyways :) (and cheaper!)
