Hi All,

I have two female corns that are now just over a year old. Currently they are in separate faunariums. It had been my original intention to eventually cohabit it them in a vivarium however after researching on here and looking at the pros and cons I have decided to house them separately.

I am going to get a Vivexotic viv. My problem is that the part of my front room identified (and approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs!) for the vivarium will not take two 3ft vivariums. I don't really have any other suitable room - there is a garage but it would probably get too cold during the winter months.

As a compromise I am considering adapting the largest vivexotic viv the EX55 by partitioning it in the middle. This would give me two viv's measuring approximately 27" x 23" with a height of 28". Does that sound suitable? I feel that it may be rather too tall at 28" any views on that? Would the use of plenty of foliage , branches etc be suitable for 'filling' the extra height and provide a suitable and comfortable living space for a corn.

Any views, comments, observations or alternative ideas would be welcomed.

Cheers

Andy

I don't see any reason why that would not work. You would be able to use 1 heat mat (half in each viv) with one stat so saving pennies at the same time. They would love to have branches to climb on and foliage to hide in as well. Some people keep adult corns in 50ltr RUBS so that size viv would be fine i'm sure.

Is there no space so to stack the Vivariums on top of each other. The Brother inlaws partner has done this with his two 3 foot ones?

EDIT: I think he has two of these, one on top of the other?? if that helps?

I have a similar problem in that my house is tiny. I stack my vivs, which looks great and minimizes the space used....floor space anyways. I think the idea of partioning a larger viv is a great one too.

Either way works well.

Thanks for replies so far - @Simmy i have been looking at the LX range and the slightly larger VX range with a view to stacking them. My only problem is that there is already a large piece of furniture in the bay that one viv is meant to be placed on (as agreed with wifey!). May have to negotiate the removal of that piece if I want to stack which I think is my preferred option. This may take some creative thinking and smooth talking!

another point that maybe usefull. My corn loves to climb. You could put in some shelves to utilise the height. My corn prefures the shelves i have put in, to the hides on the ground other than to top up his tempreture.
