Well have had our Sydney for two weeks today, which means that he/she is roughly 7-8 Weeks old. Currently weighing 10g.

Since with us has had 2 feeds (on wednesdays).

Normaly spends all day under the same hide, seems to like the same one as whichever end of the tank i put it (hot/cold end) he picks the same one. He pops out at night for a prowl but shoots away the minute he see's us. I have continued with the handling for 10mins a day, except after a feed. He is so skitty for the first 20seconds or so then chills out.

My only worry is that i am yet to see any poops, he has no bulges or anything and seems himself but no poop yet (that i have found anyway.) I would have thought all the handling would have stimulated something.

Should i worry or does this sound normal, just wanna make sure i get everything right and he/she grows into a nice big healthy snake!

Cheers

what type of substrate are you keeping him on, baby poop is so small its hard to see, the best way to monitor pooping is to use kitchen roll, mine usually poop 2-3 days after a feed

He's on Aspen at the min (i take him out to feed), he seems to like burrying himself in the aspen.

if he's on aspen he probably has pooped but you just haven't noticed it, if you're worried about it, put him on kitchen roll for a bit and i'm sure you'll soon start to notice some poop, maybe just put a small handful of aspen in for him to bury in

If you dont catch a fresh pile it dries out very quickly and when they are small its only tiny and will just turn to dust if you disturb the aspen. Paper towel is a good idea if your struggling with spot checks but dont worry they soon grow up and you know they've been as soon as you walk in the room, corn snake poo hums.

You must have stinky snakes,or theres somat wrong with my nose as I rarely smell anything and if I do its only on opening the viv!

@west5680 - You'll probably find there a little poop,if not a couple but they are really tiny and very easy to miss. If it makes you feel any better i posted a pic of my first snakes first poo on facebook lol!
