Hi all!
Picked up this beautiful girl (or boy), on Saturday.
I'm not too sure on the morph, most have said Normal, but a phew people have said wild phase? Any ideas?
Here's some pics of her having an explore :)
Poor thing ... I don't know what sex it is either. And we're still umming and arring over a name lol.
My attempt at an underneath photo but he/she was intent on looking at everything x)
Hope you like :D |

Hiya,
What a lovely snake! I'm no expert but she/he certainly looks like a carolina aka normal morph, is it possible she's/he's in shed? Looks a little blue in the pics but may just be me |

Thanks :) Very lovely snake, friendly and really inquisitive.
She does look a little in blue, there's an odd sheen over her (we've decided to go with girl as we have a male king, haha).
We just tried to give her a nice soak... she liked it, then didnt, then liked it a bit. Then decided she'd rather wrap herself round the taps, then my boyfriends arm lol. |

she's cute - carolina/normal/wildtype are all the same why the bath if you don't mind me asking? corns don't really need bathing unless constipated or struggling to shed properly - not having a go but they don't really need them
congrats on the new arrival! |

I didnt know they were the same. I'm new to corns :) Gave her the bath cos we thought she might like it. We've had and have got snakes that enjoy a good soak and a swim. She's definatelty not constipated ... My poor bed covers and rug will tell you that lol. |

Hi hun, welcome over here. Your new addition is gorgeous. I agree she certainly looks quite dull and going by her clear eyes I would say she is going to shed quite soon. If I were you I would leave her be for her weeks settling in period in which time she will probably shed. I can't wait to see pics of her when she has shed as I can tell her colours are going to be really rich. I'm not sure if it's just the way the photos have took but she does seem to look a little underweight. Have you got feeding records for her?
I hope this girl helps someway to easing your pain over losing Toki xx |

Thanks everyone :). She really is beauitful.
kdlang - Yeah we put her away last night, with a large bowl to soak in to help her shed if she needs it, with the intention of only seeing if she wanted to come out for food on the weekend :). We sadly have no records for her, she was just ditched to our local garden center because no one wanted her any more - their loss!. We are in their regularly to get locusts etc for our beardie, and i used to work on one of the consessions and she come in just before Toki died and we were gawping at her. They said she was on rats or extra large mice once a week. I thought that was a little low, as our 2 year old king is on same size mice and she drawfs him. I'll keep her on the same whilst she's shedding, just to make sure she takes it then i'll slowly up the week after. Thanks for the comment about Toki, means a lot. Still miss the boy immensely and we only just took his heat lamp etc down and washed out his things on the weekend. She's certainly helping, with her calm nature and tendency to want to look at everything that's going on lol.
Any more tips etc would be great :) I want to keep her as happy as I can. By the looks of things she's been shoved from home to home lately.

She's beautiful even in blue. Good to know she now has a forever home and it sounds like she's going to be a spoilt young lady. Congrats! |

What a shame she was just dumped at the garden centre. She really is a lovely looking thing and it sounds like her temperament is top notch. At least she has now got a very caring owner and I'm sure she will thrive.
To be honest, an extra large mouse once a week should be more than sufficient. My adult corns are on xlarge every 2 weeks usually or 1 large every 7 to 10 days. I'm varying it a little as I don't want them to get overweight. I have one adult who is on 1 large or extra large every 3-4 weeks at the moment as she is very overweight. |

I'll weigh her when she's shed and see if she's under or over. I want to know how long she is! but she won't stay still unless she's having a bit of a bask, and even then she's usually curled up or wrapped round her tree thing. My King's a good weight, and he's growing quite quickly, think that's how he's burning through his mice.
I know! :( I don't know how people can get bored of their pets :( ... It could be a money thing, what with some peoples jobs going etc i suppose. Shame, but as i said ... My gain :D |
