Cheers guys. its still a bit timid and just have him in a starter kit tank with heat mat, water bowl, hide and some tree bark at its warm end but want to add a branch to give it more to play on but heard you can either put it in the oven to treat it but at what temp and how long? or can u also freeze it? |

Do you have the heatmat connected to a thermostat and a digital thermometer for checking temps? A lot of starter kits don't come with these and they are essential pieces of kit. This link may help in regards to the branch question: http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16164 |

I have the digital thermometers checking the heat levels but no thermostat was not told i needed one. all i have been doing is moving the heatmat to cover more and less of the tank to regulate temps(sticking to the 1/3 rule). could anyone suggest the best place to buy a thermostat on-line or what type to get. |

A lot of people aren't informed of it unfortunately. I myself wasn't but I'd had reps years ago so knew in advance. All my snakes heatmats are ran off this model of stat:

I've ordered from the website on the link and Surrey Pet Supplies are also a good price. |
