Morning All
Came down this morning to dind Bailey's tail sticking out of his hide well from a distance thats what it looked like until on closer inspection I realised that he had shed, my little one was horrified as she thought he had melted out of his skin lol
I dont want to disturb him too much but it looks like the tail tip is all there, does this mean he has fully shed ? I am taking it they shed from head to tail ( sorry if I sound like a div)
Should I remove the shed from the viv ?
I feel awful I didn't know he was in shed but as he is so light and my 1st one Ill make sure I note the date and things I did notice..
I am hoping now he may want to eat any tips on how long after to leave him before I try again ?
Thanks everyone I am a very happy bunny today |

Yes they shed from head to tail and the shed will be inside out. Remove the old shed and examine it to make sure it is all there. Check that both eye caps are there, very important to do this. I usually feed mine the same or next day after a shed as they always seem very hungry at that point having normally missed a feed because of being blue. |

So even though it is in bits the shed was ok, no probs with tail tip or eye caps? I've got a moss hide all ready for Dakota. |

On the head section you need to be very sure both of the eye caps have come off, they look like little goggles. Those and the tail tip are the importangt bits but the tail is off its very visible in the picture. I think the head section is that bit next to the phone and looks in one piece but its important to be sure. |

@Lottabob , I checked that bit first as I knew it could cause real problems and they are both there I think where it broke was my fault if I am honest I tried taking it out this morning first time and didn't realise he was still sitting on it. He looks really nice now has a tint of yellow/gold on his tummy and is a gorgeous irridecent colour and he has pooped so now just to attempt feeding again, I am going to wait until Weds/Thursday and see how things go |

Yeah they seem to enjoy a good poo after a shed, you should see what a python does after a shed. its as big as your arm.
Spot just shed a few hours ago and it came off in bits. These things happen. |

u need to make sure the very tip of the tail some off, as this bit often breaks off, best way is to acctually look at snakes tail to make sure there isnt a small pice still on the end. its not always viisble to tell on the shed |

I have just lifted his hide and had a look it seems to have all come off although he is a bit skitty still and I am a bit nervous about moving him too much as he doesn't seem to want me near him |

Be brave and show it who's boss. If you moisten your finger tips and run them down the tail you'll feel if there is any left. (I wouldn't have known this until a few hours ago, I could feel the difference when my fingers were wet but not really if they were dry). |

Well done, you'd have felt it if it was there I'm almost sure of it.
Very brave, they are all show really, once you get a hold of them they usually calm down quickly. |
