Do I have to wash the coconut hide I bought today before putting it in the faun?


Dakota ~ Bloodred Corn ~ Amber & Chloe ~ Cats
Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes.

i would wash and sterilise it, you dont know what it has been near in the shop.

I would sterilise everything that goes into my snakes vivs/RUBs you just never know.

I don't lol I only sterilse the shop bought stuff.

Hard to sterilise loo roll tubes and kitchen roll sheets :p

I always stick stuff like that in boiling water, squizz it over with rep disinfectant, hot water it again, 1 more squizz and then dry in the airing cupboard.

However, I am a bit OCD :L

We put most things in the freezer till frozen then thaw out

I just used a tiny bit of milton , lots of boiling water then let it and the stones i bought soak, then rinsed with loads of boiling water and let air dry.

I sterlise stujff from a rep shop...always so many reports on peple finding mites from one of the ones IO go to... I use rep discentfant and boilding water. With this weather it won't take long to dry :p You may need a tooth brsh though to clean poop off if the coconut is still hairy!
