Last night my new snake did strike at me it made me jump slightly but not to bad, I was putting the water bowl back in the tank after changing the water and it sruck but didnt get me ? could this have been some sort of warning strike or somthing along those lines ? im not sure, can anyone help me on this one ? thanks ppl xx :)

He was probably trying to tell you to get away. The best thing to do is just ignore it and carry on. It can be hard as they can make you jump but if they realise they can get you to go away if they strike at you then they will do it even more.

It REALLY makes you jump, they are so fast its incredible but don't worry its almost always a bluff and if its not by the time you realise its not its over and done with. I had a close call with my Royal a week or so back, he went for my face, I pulled some matrix moves but by the time I'd reacted he was already recoiling back.
