So yeah, fed Mitch today on a fluff. And he ate bum first, what does it mean? Sorry if it sounds stupid, just he's never done it before. Thanks |

as long as it went down and stayed down it's fine plenty of snakes eat prey items bum first or even sideways! |

I thought snakes preferred to eat head first to avoid going against the fur of their prey? |
Dakota ~ Bloodred Corn ~ Amber & Chloe ~ Cats Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes. |

Also head first to get the potential bitey end under control as well. With a lo of captive snakes you could seee that. Going from the side is totally different. |

Well with constrictor snakes in the wild the prey is usually dead so they don't need to worry about the bitey end being under control, captive bred snakes just go through the motions of killing their prey, don't they? |

My corns eat either head or bottom, which ever smells more lol. The King it's the food sideways but that's because he's thick. |

If I was a snake I'd have to check out the bum first lol! Seriously though,Loki and Falcor have done the bum first feeds too. They don't do it as much now they have furrier prey,I think the direction of the fur helps. As for Sabai, well I'll have to wait and see. |

Spot will nearly always bite at the middle then its just a game of chance which way he sets off jaw-walking & whatever end he hits first is the end he will swallow. Its odd looking when they have a mouse head poking out of their mouths but either way is fine, though sideways is one I've not seen yet lol. |
