I have different types of snakes in a rack and they are all fine.
Congrats on the boa. What will your setup be like? My boa's are all in rubs right now but are pretty small. |

Its going into a 64l Rub as its only 3 foot then once it outgrows the rub which wont be long i will be building a 4x2x2 viv hoopefully i would keep it in a rub but they dont do one big enough lol |

You couldn't keep it in a rub anyway as you can't use heatmats once they get bigger.
Infact at 3ft it will be quite heavy so a heatmat may not be a great idea for much longer due to the risk of thermal blocking. A viv would be better with a heatlamp but having done your research I'm sure you are aware of that. |

yeah im aware of that the person im buying it off said to keep it in a 64l rub for a while as thats what he's got it in so would you say to put it in a viv then or will a rub be ok for a while? |

keep it in a RUB as long as you can.......I've got my 3 smallest boas in RUBS, it's practical the adults are all in vivs though |

So many different opinions lol roughly what viv size would you need for an adult male common boa? |

So it's a BCI?
Surley part of your research would have been to find out what size viv you will need for it once it's fully grown.
Have a look online at some caresheets. I have a dwarf boa, a hogg island boa and a rainbow boa, all need different things. I don't know how big you will need for a BCI. |

depends on it's expected adult size.......? (ie. locality? dwarf?)
my adult Dums will never need anything bigger than they're in - a 4'x2'x2' each - as they're a very sedentary species that don't appreciate a lot of space
my almost 7ft BCO cross is cramped in a 4'x2'x2' and should be in a 6 footer at least as she's a big, active snake
