Thinking in advance with this one.
Ok, as said in other posts, today I visited Serpentus Exotics for my corn starter kit before getting my baby corn.
Had a good old discussion about housing my snake and that after about a year or year and a half - depending on how my corns grows, I will then have to move up to a 3 foot enclosure.
My question is - can a 3 foot Exo Terra Flat Faunarium (more budget friendly than a wooden viv) house my snake just as well as a wooden viv? Also noticed that some people have their heat mate sitting on a piece of polystyrene with the Faunarium on top, not sure where to get this so would cork mats do the same job? |
Dakota ~ Bloodred Corn ~ Amber & Chloe ~ Cats Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes. |

Ok, so when my snake grows and neews a new home what's the best thing to use - a 3 foot wooden viv, an Exo Terra Flat Faunarium - not sure if I can get them in 3 foot size or as said above 33L, 50L or 64L RUBs. What do others do? |

a wooden viv is ideal - it's enclosed, maintains the temps, looks nice and can be nicely decorated
RUBs are highly practical, we use these in a racking system which gets round the problems of feeling open and exposed to the snake, and being in the racking helps stablise ambient temperatures. the down side is that they're not as nice as a beautiful viv...........ultimately the choice is yours |
