hi i have a 7yr old amel creamicle called venom who for the past month has been a bit aggressive but i'm thinking it is down to the breeding season. he hasn't eaten for over 6 weeks now when i put his last feed in he went to it checked it over and nudged it but didn't eat it he just went back to his hide, is this normal behaviour or is this sign of a problem?
his temp in the warm end is 75 and its 65 in his cold end i also managed to change him bout 2 weeks ago and he hasn't been to the loo either.

no food going in = no poop coming out lol so that's not a huge concern
i'd be more worried about your temps being too low which might be the cause of him not eating

Hi,some of what you're experiencing could be due to breeding behaviour.
Really you could do with his warm end being around 28-29 degrees celcius, not sure what that is in farenheit sorry.

sorry to gate crash this post, how hot is too hot? I have a new set up, and just have what the guy provided me with. I haven't got a digital themometor just one of the cheap round ones, and the temp at the warm end is nearer 90 than 80. it was fine when i used newspaper but have switched to aspen shavings today. I put thin layer over the end with the heat mat, which is under the plastic faunarium.. I am planning on buying a thermostat if I can for this kind of set up, but short of turning the heat mat off i am at a loss.
