Hi all i have a 5 to 6 month old butter that is always in the cooler end of his faun. I have changed his hides around and that dosent help either. His warm end temps fluctuate between 28 and 30 and his cool end temps are around 25 26 but does get cooler. is this to cold for him or is he ok. He has just been fed and is still choosing to stay in cooler end, thanx

I would suggest that your temperatures need a change.

Firstly are you using a thermostat?

try dropping your warm end a degree or two and see how you get on.

Where do you measure the temperature, and what do you use?

OK good to hear, try reducing to get it around 28 as sitting in the cold end all the time is a sign its too hot. You say a faun so it cant be air flow they are full of holes, do you have a hot room that its in as your cool end temps are almost as hot as the average hot end temps.

Do you use a digital thermometer or a dial thermometer, as dial ones are severely useless and do you use the markings on the stat to establish temperature or the reading on the thermometer?
