Second week of vague disinterest from Vin at feeding time, he's very active so I'm wondering if he's after a snakette Does everyone else's corns strike eventually? Vin seems positively offended if I dangle the pinkie, will only take it if its left on the base of the feeding RUB for him to get!
By the way, if he is feeling a bit in the romantic mood, how long does it generally last? |

Striking and constricting with my pair depends what side of the Viv they got out of that day. I'm almost certain sometimes they just TUT and wriggle over to there the mouse is just to wind me up lol |

striking is only needed for live feeders (which i dont advocate)when feeding frozen thawed there is no need to strike as the prey isnt going anywhere....
BUT, if you hold the pinky by the tail and twist it, the pinky spins and usually entices a strike... |

(possible half way point) If you want to see a constrict use feeding tweezers and when snakey bites onto the mouse, pinch the tail (mouse not snake) and give a VERY SMALL & GENTLE wiggle. Sends Spot into a constrict. He doesn't strike feed though, suppose like its been said before, they don't need to use the element of surprise on something thats dead. |

Thanks for replies, at least I know he's not the only one who's not striking! He's not bothered eating again tonight, I know they can go for a long time without, but it worries me a little when he doesn't |

By the way on the subject of the actual topic, from the size of him (judging from you saying pinkies) chances are he won't even know how to constrict yet, and won't be interested in striking.

Me to! He's only approx 17-18 weeks bless him, bit young for sexy adventures! As I said he refused yesterday, but is active and exploring so I'm not too worried as yet, think he does this for fun! |
