Hi guys... Gollums in his water bowl a lot this last couple of days like for a quick dip then back to his warm end. (31) I've just noticed he is totally submerging his head in the water too having a swim round and then coming back up to go down again... I'm expecting him to shed I think? Never did get the eyes but I can see some clouding round the edges but being a snow... and not being able to tell with my amels eyes either Im just guessing.
First thought wasmites but then he is a snow and pretty much completely white so I would see them... He seems normal and fine in himself, havent got him out for a few days as he seemed a bit overly timid so decided elave him be n see if a shed is on its way.
Am I doing the right thing? And is it normal he completely submerges his head? (he does keep comin up for air lol)

Hey,

Im no expert at this as im new to this too, but by what you have sauid, and what ive heard others say, to me it sound like hes getting ready to shed!!1 maybe hes submerging his head trying to loosen the first bit from around hios face, just what i think, probably no help at all !!!

It could be that he's sheddng or it could be that he's cooling down in the water rather than just going to the cool end. I'd still keep an eye out for mites, it's very common for snakes with mites to go in their water. Maybe he just likes water!!

Nimbus does that a few days before he sheds.

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw him with his head fully submerged but he was fine.

Ah thanks guys just to know its normal is great! I have noticed him sliding over his water bowl the other day a lot yes but never fully submerge himself and its quite a deep waterbowl! He seems to beenjoying himself and I note he is going over the rocks and up the bark all the rougher stuff in there so hoping its a shed :). As long as its not a sign anything is really wrong I'm happy... dying to get him out again but think I shall wait until after he has shed no sure when he is due this will be his first with me and ive had him 5weeks I think,,, could be 4 but sure its 5 lol!
