| Hi all my first post so bare with me... I brought a carolina corn about 3 months ago and have been happy ever since in relation to everything with "Mitch" however i have noticed recently that he is trying or looking like he wants to be out all the time he constantly bashes his face against the glass and tries to squeeze through the tiny gap in the front of his viv where the glass overlaps to my wonder the other day i turned round to find that Mitch had successfully shifted the glass across an inch and managed to slither off into my record bag panic over i managed to find him about 20 mins later and he was fine... I was just wondering if this was typical behaviour?? And to double check that Mitch wont come to any harm doing this?? I have him out most days apart from feeding and a small duration after Mitch is roughly a year old and has had no problems at all either than this... Any thoughts??? Cheers |

| They are escape artists, totally normal (and scary) for them to find the smallest of gaps and escape. Best thing to do is escape proof your vivarium. They can squeeze through very small gaps so if there's a gap they'll try pushing through. They can on occasions do minor damage to their scales around the nose but its nothing serious. They are quite clever too and will learn to push the doors open if they can get a grip so its wise to buy a lock, not only to stop them opening the door but as a safe guard that you have closed the door properly. |

| Thanks alot for the advice just a bit scary when you see them shaking at the glass trying to push their way through I have got a friend who keeps snakes who advised me to put half a peg in the gap between the the sliding glass on the front and seems to have solved the problem of him ever sliding them across again :D |

My pair are ten and they still knock on the glass and periscoping near the glass, but its usually cos they want to come out and play for a bit  |

| lol yeh thats what i thought like i said i usualy have hime out most days but i didnt want to over handle Mitch if there is such a thing...Seems to have a nose for bacon as he goes mental when im cooking it like u say periscoping up at the glass and tryin all sorts of tactics to escape...I love having him out so if its more play time he wants more he shall get |

| My Spot has escaped from his temporary box once and got stuck trying once too. The first time he was in the tub and I caught him stuck tight in a 6mm air hole, took a minute or two to free him. The second time he escaped I put a pillow case accross the top of the tub then put the lid on top of that so he couldn't get stuck in the air holes. I was sorting out the heat mat in his cage and about 5 minutes into the job Spot came scooting past me and back into his viv, to this day I have no idea how he got out, it should have been impossible but I got lucky, he came over to see what I was doing rather than run in the other direction. |

| I was rather impressed i didnt think he would have the strength to shift the glass but to my amazement he did for about 20 minutes think he must have the same taste in music as i found him curled up making home in the bottom of my record bag... Just one quick question...you know you have the name and type of your snake at the bottom of your posts what do the numbers represent? Am i being stupid i do apologise if i am. |

| It means number of MALE.FEMALE.UNKNOWN snakes so spot 0.0.1 is an unknown but Duke 1.0.0 is a male. Its a quick way for people with lots of snakes to list what they have without writing each one. You'll see some of the guys and girls on here with loads of snakes listed. |
