i have just bought my first corn snake it is about 4 months old so the pet shop told me, when i feed him dead pinkies with tounges he just bites it and swallows it is this normal? i have been watching feeding videos on you tube and they all bite it and wrap around it first before they swallow it, just wondering if there is something wrong or if it is normal?

my corn is 7 months and i have only ever seen him constrict once when feeding, nothing to worry about mate as long as he is feeding that's the main thing.

its fine matey. neither of my corns constrict. im trying to get them to do it becaus ei think its more natural but as long as they are eating (especially at that age) thats all you need to worry about. perfectly normal mate! :)

Your snake is fine. Not all snakes strike & constrict. He might do it when he gets older. As long as he's feeding then it's not a big deal.

Feeding on a Wednesday and Saturday is not really the best idea, you are looking to feed every 5 - 7 days. However of your corn is big enough to take 2 at a time then thats also fine. If your corn has a visable bump in the belly where the pinkie is then you will only really need to feed one, if here is not so much of a bump then you could move it onto 2 at a time.
