It was a sad day today, when my son's corn died. We've had major problems with it nearly from day one which was in July, it has always been feed in a separate feeding tub. He just wouldn't gain any weight or grow,it was keeping the pinkies down OK and pooping fine. He started off at 16g and died today after 7 months still 16g, the last month has been hell for my son as the snake decided to stop eating , no matter what we did following all the advice on feeding on here it wouldn't feed. There must have been some sort of digestion problem from the start as we did everything right!!!
We have another corn which I re-homed at the same time, this one has grown from 50g upto 128g in the same period. We also bought a 4 year old corn last week, so we have well and truly caught the Corn Snake Bug despite today's set back. |

Aww poor little snake. Sometimes these little snakes are just not mean't to survive its only our care that keeps them going so long. It was very well cared for for its short life, its clearly had an underlying illness or digestive problem. |

Sorry to hear about your little snakey.
If it's any consolation some hatchies never start being good eaters, so it's probably nothing you did that made things end this way.
Glad you are continuing in corn snake keeping x |

Nicely thanx, got a 1 year old corn ,that's on hopper mice so should be an easy starter for him. I'm afraid my morth knowledge is still very patchy, he's marked normally mostly brite orange with bright red markings which are surrounded with a white outline and no black colouring at all. He looks really stunning and is o so friendly when we handled him before buying. I'll post some piccies when we have him out for his first feed, after his 7 days and maybe someone will be able to tell me his morth. Just had a look and the new guy seems to be a fluorescent orange ! ! ! |

Well here is the new guy just after his first feed, which he downed without a problem. Just need to teach him to strike and constrict next.
